This is a nice little piece of South Jersey history. It is an VASELINE OPEN SALT made on AUGUST HOFBAUER press and sold at CLEVENGER BROTHERS GLASS WORKS in CLAYTON, NEW JERSEY. It is in excellent condition. It is the only piece of Vaseline glass I am aware of that was made by Hofbauer or Clevenger's. It has been tested by a black light and glows nicely! This piece is most likely from the 1950's.

It stands 8 1/4" tall, is 8 1/22" wide. it has a nice 1 1/4" sand pontil on the bottom, one of his trade marks. It was blown most likely at the BEACON GLASS COMPANY which was located in VINELAND NEW JERSEY.

It stands 5 1/2" tall, is 4" wide. it has a nice 3/4" sand pontil on the bottom, one of his trade marks. It was blown most likely in the late 1940's at the BEACON GLASS COMPANY which was located in VINELAND, NEW JERSEY. In very good condition with some minor surface scratches from normal usage. No chips, flea bites or cracks
